He has worked on a several Ruby on Rails projects, some of which he has supported for a few years. Since March 2013, Damir has been helping build up a local Ruby community by organizing Ruby meetups in Sarajevo.
He has been developing web applications for more than 13 years and has been using Ruby since 2007.

Bosnia and Herzegovina needs a quality startup scene, but for it to grow it is necessary that more people - especially young people and students - get involved in its evolution. Therefore, I am very pleased to be a part of this project, and to be able to acquaint students with the tools which they can use to implement their own ideas, and thereby support the growth of the local IT startup community.

I expect that this workshop will be a great experience both to us and the participants, and I sincerely hope that we will be one of the factors which will enable the participants to get the most out of this workshop.
EESTEC Startup Lab is one of the most interesting events I've had the opportunity to organise.

As a Computer Science student in my final year of studies, I'm very interested in startups, and in the skills a person needs to have to succeed on his own in the IT world.I decided to be the mentor coordinator on this project to learn about Ruby on Rails myself, since it is such a popular and powerful web framework, and I think it's something every developer should know about. Coordinating the other mentors and working with participants will only reward me with more experience in teamwork and leadership.

EESTEC Startup Lab is an opportunity for EESTEC-ers from all over Europe, to join and make startups based on their very own ideas.

I'm very excited to hear about their ideas and help them realize them. Also it's a great chance to show our guests the best of Sarajevo. I decided to be a mentor because I want to share the things I learn and to contribute to the entire event. I expect that we will have fun on the Startup Lab and that it will result in 3 nice prototypes, and I expect from the participants that they continue developing their startups.

"Chase the vision, not the money, the money will end up following you."

ESL is an event where students and startup enthusiasts come together to share ideas, form teams, build a product and launch startups! I want to share my knowledge with others.

ESL workshop is a great opportunity for young and innovative people to get familiar with the startup theme.

My motivation for the mentorship was the opportunity to learn new things about Ruby on Rails, and to give that same opportunity to new individuals. I hope that this workshop will be the foundation that will give birth to a large amount of workshops with a similar subject and goal.
